Back Conditions Treated
Osteopaths can help with the following conditions affecting the lower back:
- Mechanical low back pain (muscle spasms, facet joint problems, sacroiliac pain, disc issues etc!)
- Sciatica
- Acute low back pain
- Chronic low back pain
- Non-specific low back pain
- Fibromyalgia
- Arthritis (degenerative changes like spondylosis)
%
of cases of low back pain are from musculoskeletal causes, which are easily diagnosed and sorted with Osteopathy.
Address the Cause
Rather than a quick fix, our osteopaths treat you as an individual to address the root cause and keep you out of pain.
The majority of people feel less pain and more mobile after the first treatment for low back pain with us.
Once you are out of immediate pain, we will space out the time between appointments, never taking advance payment, but instead being guided by your recovery.
Our Commitment
Here at Faversham Osteopathy and Folkestone Osteopathy, we always ensure you have a thorough assessment as routine, to rule out any serious cause of shoulder pain first. Our osteopaths are fully trained primary healthcare and allied health professionals, trained to screen for pathology. Should we be at all concerned, we will refer you swiftly to other services (either NHS or private) for further investigation. However, in most cases, this will not be necessary and we will be able to get you feeling more comfortable with hands on treatment and exercise rehabilitation.

what our patients say…
I visited this osteopath to treat my shoulder pain and they were able to provide great treatment and advice. I noticed an improvement from the first session. The staff are helpful and friendly and the service is very competitively priced so would definitely visit again with any future complaints.
Natasha
I’ve been visiting Tamsyn for a back issue the last four weeks and she’s been amazing at diagnosing my issues and fixing me. I’m starting to feel normal again and that’s all down to her. Her technique with me isn’t forceful with cracks and fast movements. Instead she treats via manipulations, deep tissue massage and passive repetitive movements. I can’t recommend Tamsyn enough frankly. If you have any pain that is effecting your life, go and see her!
Emma
Excellent treatment, which has made a world of difference to my mobility and back to all the activities I enjoy. The staff are very welcoming and facilities very well presented. I cannot recommend more highly.

What Is Cranial Osteopathy (& Does It Work?)
It’s gentle, non-invasive, and often used with babies – but cranial osteopathy is powerful for adults too. By working with the nervous system, it helps release deeply held tension and supports the body’s natural rhythm of healing.
Why Osteopathy Isn’t Just for Back Pain
Most people think of osteopathy for lower back pain – and yes, we treat that daily – but it can also support everything from tension headaches and jaw pain to digestive discomfort and postural imbalances. Osteopathy looks at how your whole body works together, not just isolated symptoms.
5 Signs Your Body’s Asking for Help
Aches that come and go. Stiffness first thing in the morning. Headaches after a long day at your desk. These niggles are your body’s way of waving a red flag. Don’t ignore them – early support can make all the difference.
