Tamsyn Webb

Principal Osteopath,
Folkestone & Faversham

The Background

Tamsyn is a registered osteopath who graduated from the European School of Osteopathy where she gained a 1st in the integrated Masters course in Osteopathic Medicine. Tamsyn is the principal Osteopath of both Faversham Osteopathy (Waterman & Webb, Preston Street) and Folkestone Osteopathy (16 Church Street, The Bayle).

Tamsyn also works for the General Osteopathic Council, assisting in the regulation of Osteopaths, right at the heart of the profession. She has been working for GOsC for nearly 7 years now, and puts her high levels of professionalism down to these experiences.

She is also involved in Osteopathic education, having obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education. Tamsyn works as a lecturer and researcher at the European School of Osteopathy and supervises student research. She is also involved in Manual Therapy research, having published two articles on osteopathic techniques in July 2016, and palpation skills in March 2021. A current project Tamsyn is working on involves the therapeutic effects of touch, a fascinating topic!

Tamsyn has developed her osteopathic approach over her 10 years in clinic to really get to the cause of your problem, helping you to feel better quickly and ensuring these results last. Everyone is different, so treatment and suggestions for outside the treatment room will be based on you as an individual.

Clinical experience and approaches

During the four-year course and after graduating, Tamsyn has gathered extensive clinical experience in treating a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions, as well as more specialised presentations such as sports injuries, pregnant women and babies.

Furthermore, she has studied 2 years of counselling and coaching skills as well as mindfulness based cognitive behavioural therapy. Emotions and feelings are important aspects of our lives, and when our bodies are uncomfortable, sometimes these aspects of our being can also be involved.

Tamsyn places an emphasis on managing your pain on an everyday basis, dealing not only with the physical aspect of pain, but also providing you with techniques you can use in stressful situations, when you feel the tension and resultant discomfort building.

She enjoys using a variety of approaches, adjusting this to best suit the individual, from structural techniques (soft tissue manipulation, articulation and exercises), to more gentle cranial osteopathy. For more details on different approaches used within osteopathy, please see the OSTEOPATHY page. Tamsyn is also trained in dry needling (acupuncture), and will use this as well during osteopathic treatments if required, as well as Pilates-based exercise rehabilitation.

Tamsyn will incorporate relevant exercises into your management plan and advise what can be useful to you specifically. She attends the gym regularly and works with all levels of athletes, meeting their needs with their goals in mind.

When not at work...

Tamsyn is also an Argentine Tango dancer and teacher. When she is not working in clinic or at the university, she is often performing and teaching with her partner, Richard Manuel – see below for a clip from July 2023.

She also plays the piano, guitar, sings and photographs our wonderful world. Tamsyn enjoys mindfulness meditation, walking in the countryside and exploring other cultures and beautiful wild places.

Terry dupertuis

Associate Osteopath,

Faversham

The Background

Terry Dupertuis is a registered osteopath and recent graduate of the European School of Osteopathy (ESO), where she earned a Master’s degree in Osteopathy. She is also trained in Medical Acupuncture and Dry Needling, adding to her comprehensive toolkit for treating a wide range of musculoskeletal issues. Terry offers her services on Tuesdays and Saturdays as part of the clinic’s team of practitioners.

Passionate about healthcare, Terry is committed to helping patients recover from injuries, manage chronic pain, or enhance their overall health. She utilizes a variety of osteopathic techniques – ranging from structural and visceral to cranio-sacral approaches – to ensure that each treatment is tailored to the specific needs of her patients.

With a focus on holistic care, she also integrates acupuncture and dry needling when appropriate to optimize treatment outcomes.

Terry also believes strongly in patient education, lifestyle adjustments, and preventative care, choosing the most appropriate approach based on the individual presentation of each patient. Her aim is to empower patients to take charge of their health and wellbeing, providing them with tools for long-term recovery and quality of life improvement.

In addition to her qualifications, Terry’s commitment to ongoing learning and skill refinement defines her approach to osteopathy. She dedicates much of her time to advancing her expertise, staying up to date with the latest in medical and holistic care.

Before Osteopathy
Before moving to the UK, Terry grew up in Switzerland where she worked for Molotov, an event company. Over nearly a decade, she took on numerous roles, including project management, team leadership, and event promotion. Her work in this industry helped her develop adaptability, strong communication skills, and problem-solving abilities under pressure – qualities she brings to her osteopathic practice today.

Terry also completed hospital work experience at Sion’s hospital in Switzerland, where she worked as a care assistant in neurology and nephrology. This hands-on experience in a medical setting gave her valuable insights into multidisciplinary collaboration and the importance of the practitioner-patient relationship.

Terry’s experience working in various sectors has helped shape her understanding of patient care and community engagement.

During her studies, she worked at a local climbing gym in Maidstone, where she not only managed café operations but also connected with the local community. This experience allowed her to better understand the physical demands and challenges of active individuals, further informing her approach to patient care.

Outside of Osteopathy
In addition to osteopathy, she has always enjoyed dancing, whether be it in a class, workshop, dancing club, or simply in her room. She admires and understands the dedication a dancer puts into his/her art. In her free time, she also enjoys doing amateur photography. Immortalizing discreet moments of friendships, beautiful sceneries, or big parties such as friends’ weddings or birthdays is one of her favourite pass times.

Otherwise, she enjoys traveling back home to see family and friends, or farther away to explore and learn about new cultures, and discover amazing new foods, landscapes, and ways of life.

    what our patients say…

Excellent treatment, which has made a world of difference to my mobility and back to all the activities I enjoy. The staff are very welcoming and facilities very well presented. I cannot recommend more highly.

Folkestone & Faversham Osteopathy - Testimonial Logo Image

I’ve been visiting Tamsyn for a back issue the last four weeks and she’s been amazing at diagnosing my issues and fixing me. I’m starting to feel normal again and that’s all down to her. Her technique with me isn’t forceful with cracks and fast movements. Instead she treats via manipulations, deep tissue massage and passive repetitive movements. I can’t recommend Tamsyn enough frankly. If you have any pain that is effecting your life, go and see her!

What Is Cranial Osteopathy (& Does It Work?)

It’s gentle, non-invasive, and often used with babies – but cranial osteopathy is powerful for adults too. By working with the nervous system, it helps release deeply held tension and supports the body’s natural rhythm of healing.

Why Osteopathy Isn’t Just for Back Pain

Most people think of osteopathy for lower back pain – and yes, we treat that daily – but it can also support everything from tension headaches and jaw pain to digestive discomfort and postural imbalances. Osteopathy looks at how your whole body works together, not just isolated symptoms.

5 Signs Your Body’s Asking for Help

Aches that come and go. Stiffness first thing in the morning. Headaches after a long day at your desk. These niggles are your body’s way of waving a red flag. Don’t ignore them – early support can make all the difference.
